Gayle Formation Theory · A Gayle Solutions platform
Making student formation visible, measurable, and scalable.
GFT is a research-grounded framework and certification platform for K-12 educators, schools, and districts. It turns the promise of a Portrait of a Graduate into the evidence of a Proof of a Graduate.
Developed by Dr. Michael S. Gayle, Ed.D.C.T.
Portrait of a Graduate → Proof of a Graduate
Portrait → Proof of a Graduate
Most Portrait of a Graduate documents describe who a student should become — but leave educators without a shared way to see, measure, or fund that formation. GFT closes the gap.

Formation across disciplines
GFT is not a single-subject reform. The six domains apply in classrooms, on fields and courts, and on stages — wherever adults intentionally form young people.

Discipline
Formation shows up in how students reason, revise, and defend evidence across subjects.

Discipline
Discipline, character, and stewardship are formed in practice, competition, and team life.

Discipline
Craft, rehearsal, and public performance make interior formation observable to a community.
The Six GFT Domains
Every GFT rating, certification, and dashboard rolls up from these six weighted domains. Together they form the Student Formation Index (SFI) for individuals and the Gayle Formation Index (GFI) for institutions.
Certification ladder
From Free Orientation through GFT Implementation Leader, every credential in the ladder ties back to the same six domains and the same 4-point rating scale. Human review is required starting at Level 2.
