The Formation Cycle, applied outside the classroom
Every GFT Afterschool cycle follows the same rhythm, whether it runs for 8 weeks or 12: students move through focused blocks tied to specific formation domains, build toward a capstone, and leave with a documented record of how they grew — not just what they made.
How a cycle is structured
- 1
Baseline (Sessions 1–2)
A Formation Guide establishes each student's starting Student Formation Index (SFI) rating across the cycle's domains — a private, plain-language starting point, not a test score.

Domain blocks
Each 2-week block focuses on one formation domain through a hands-on project — building, designing, composing, organizing, pitching.

Ongoing observation
Formation Guides record structured observations throughout the cycle, feeding the same SFI model used across the GFT platform.

Capstone & showcase
Every cycle ends in a “Proof of a Graduate” presentation, scaled to the students' grade band — from a show-and-tell circle for K–2 to a stakeholder pitch for grades 9–12.

Final rating & Growth Report
Each student receives a Growth Report comparing baseline to final rating, in family-facing language — what changed, and what it looked like in practice.

The GFT Afterschool Program is newly launched. No outcome data, effectiveness claims, testimonials, or participation statistics are published on this site, and none will be until completed pilot cycles produce them. Program imagery is representative and will be replaced with consent-cleared photography from live sites. Student formation data is handled under the GFT platform privacy standards, including parent/guardian consent and de-identified reporting.
